Supervisory authorities



ABN AMRO Belgium is under the supervision of the DNB (De Nederlandsche Bank), the NBB (National Bank of Belgium) and the FSMA (Financial Services and Markets Authority). The Act of 2 July 2010 changed the supervisory structure of the financial sector in Belgium.
Microprudential and systemic supervision, as well as macroprudental supervision fall under the authority of the National Bank.

The FSMA is responsible for monitoring financial markets and listed companies, certification and supervision of specific types of financial institutions, compliance with rules of conduct by financial intermediaries and the marketing of investment products to the public, as well as the so-called ‘social supervision’ of supplementary pensions. The FSMA is also legally required to contribute to the financial education of savers and investors
